The Holy Spirit Prayer Ministry gathers on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the church and on zoom for those unable to attend in person.  The mission of our group is to grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ by recognizing and embracing the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to us in the sacrament of confirmation.

We begin our prayer meeting by surrendering ourselves to the Holy Spirit so that He may lift our praise and worship and make it an acceptable offering to the Lord, “for we do not know what to pray for as we should…” (Romans 8:26) Being in the presence of the Lord is the first gift of the evening, “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” (Matthew 18:20) We invoke the Word of the Lord for inspiration and reflection to further reveal and confirm the promptings of the Holy Spirit. There may be other gifts given during the evening for the sole purpose of building up the church (His Children), gifts of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. (1COR 12:8-10)

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are freely given to any baptized Christian who sincerely desires to serve Our Lord Jesus Christ in an intimate and personal way. Our prayer team leaders will pray for anyone seeking to discover the Lord’s Will in their life by using and increasing the spiritual talents bestowed on them by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of evangelization:  to “go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)

Ultimately, our Catholic faith is enriched through our relationship with God’s Holy Spirit.  Our understanding of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is deepened, our desire to receive Jesus in Holy Communion increases, our prayer life becomes more dynamic, and our love for souls becomes an unquenchable fire within us.  Many members of our prayer group have witnessed to the extraordinary miracles and experiences that have taken place in their lives after they were open to the interior inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We acknowledge that the Holy Spirit will not be restrained to the place or time of our meetings, so this ministry stands ready at any moment to intercede for anyone in need of prayer via the [email protected]. All are welcomed to join this large group of prayer warriors; just provide your email address and you will receive an invitation. This site may also be used to share words of encouragement, support, and thanksgiving. Just call the office to make your prayer request.

Although we are a distinctively Catholic prayer ministry, we welcome members of other Christian denominations to join us in praise and worship.
