Faith Formation

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

The mission of teaching our faith and evangelizing to our families through the ministry of catechesis is a life-long process.   At Holy Name of Mary, we are committed to providing our youth, parents and parishioners of all ages, an opportunity to participate in our catechetical programs to deepen their knowledge of their faith and encounter Christ in the sacraments.

Pre-K thru 5th grade

All youth Pre-K thru 5th grade can register to attend weekly Faith Formation sessions, held every Sunday, September – April, from 9:20 AM – 10:30 AM.  These weekly sessions will be led by catechists, using the curriculum “Be My Disciples” for each grade.  Along with the systematic curriculum material taught, they will participate in events throughout the year to experience the richness of the Liturgical year with their peers and parish family.

Middle School (Grades 6 – 8) and High School (Grades 9 – 12)

Holy Name of Mary currently uses the program developed for youth by Life Teen/ Edge programs.  These sessions currently meet on scheduled Saturdays, approximately twice a month with a separate calendar.

“Life Teen is a movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.”

Sacramental Preparation Classes – First Communion, First Reconciliation (typically 2nd grade) and Confirmation classes (typically 10th grade) are held outside of our weekly Faith Formation and all students that are to be registered for Sacramental Preparation classes should be registered and attending their regular Faith Formation classes
